2010 Subaru Legacy Review

The 2010 Subaru Legacy has been comprehensively redesigned and presents a marked departure from previous versions. New fenders bulge out dramatically and big, bright headlamps accent the powerful looking front end. While its predecessors were always quite reserved, this new Legacy makes no apologies for its bold styling. And for those that are appreciative of this new look, they will find their true rewards when they discover the loads of safety and luxury features presented by these very capable midsized sedans.

Subaru has established itself as an automaker that provides vehicles that are capable of instilling driver confidence. The 2010 Legacy by Subaru continues to deliver on that reputation. All-wheel-drive is a standard feature for all trims. This acts in conjunction with the unique double-wishbone rear suspension system to create class leading ride-quality. The legacy will get you where you need to go - regardless of terrain scenarios.

Exterior dimensions have been considerably expanded alleviating concerns about previous generations' limited cabin space. Following suit with the enlarged Mazda Mazda6, the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry, this new Legacy has gained more than 3 inches in height, width and wheelbase. Those increases on the exterior translate into significantly more comfort and spaciousness on the inside. And it all happens with only a 50 pound increase in curb weight.

The Subaru Legacy for 2010 presents buyers with a wide selection of powertrain configurations. From the base 2.5L 170hp 4-cylinder engine that delivers 31 MPG - to its turbocharged version - to the all new 3.6L 265hp "horizontally-opposed" 6-cylinder option mated to a 6-speed manual tranny, there is a choice to satisfy all needs and desires for power.
