2010 Toyota Yaris Sedan Review

The 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan is the least expensive vehicle in the entire Toyota lineup. It is representative of solid, dependable value for fundamental transportation needs. And it doesn't stop there. It also offers very pleasing looks, pleasant manners on the roads, gutsy performance levels and a surprisingly eloquent interior. 3-door and 5-door Liftback trims are also available making the Yaris the only competitor in its class to offer perspective purchasers 3 separate body designs.

As you might expect, the Toyota Yaris is not the largest vehicle on the planet. The overall length of the sedan model is 169.3 inches. Width and height are 66.5 inches and 57.5 inches respectively. It rides on top of a 100.4 inch wheelbase and clears the ground by 5.8 inches. Its curb weight is measured at only 2288 pounds. Those small exterior dimensions still allow adequate spaciousness on the inside. You won't exactly be craning your neck around, but you will still have 39 inches of frontal headroom (37 in the rear). Shoulder and hip room measurements for frontal occupants are 52 and 50 inches respectively. And frontal legroom is measured at a very respectable 42.4 inches.

With standard seating for five, the sedan version of the Toyota Yaris for 2010 presents owners with 13.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Its competitors include the Chevrolet Aveo, the Honda Fit, the Kia Soul and the Pontiac G3. It's difficult to believe that a new vehicle features a price range beginning at only $12,355 and topping out at $13,115, but it's true. With its 1.5L 106hp 103lb-ft inline 4-cylinder engine, it serves as an excellent runabout, able to make quick dashes and keep up well in all types of traffic. EPA estimations for fuel economy are reported at a wallet-pleasing 29/36 MPG. With its 11.1 gallon fuel tank, you will be able to travel approximately 350 miles in between gas station stops.

Overall, the 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan presents one of the lowest new vehicle total costs to own ratios on the planet. It's practical. It's dependable. It's a brand new Toyota at a very attractive price point. While it may not be your first choice as a vehicle for family based vacations, it's certainly hard to beat as an inner city sprinter that can be counted on year after year.
