Toyota Avalon

The Toyota Avalon made its debut for the 1995 model year as Toyota's flagship sedan with room for six passengers. This luxurious sedan, designed specifically for the American marketplace and built in the United States, was equipped power accessories, dual airbags, and front wheel drive and was powered by a 3.0 V6 engine.

Upon its introduction the Avalon was only slightly larger than the Toyota Camry. In 2000, the Avalon arrived larger in overall size than its previous model years and with a revised grille, headlights and taillights. It had also received a technological and mechanical makeover that increased standard safety features and general performance capabilities. The two available trim styles were the XL and the XLS. Although the upscale XLS model could be equipped with just about every comfort and convenience option available at the time, the overall style of both the interior and exterior was bland and unimpressive.

For the 2005 model year, this flagship sedan was once again redesigned and became the most luxurious, largest and expensive sedan Toyota had ever offered. It offered lots of room for increased passenger and driver comfort, as well as a large trunk for transporting cargo. The 3.5 liter V6 engine delivered 268 horsepower allowing for quick acceleration and an unencumbered driving experience, and gas mileages is impressive for a vehicle and engine this size. The interior is more refined and stylish, though the exterior still falls into an attractive but somewhat nondescript large sedan category.

The 2007 Toyota Avalon is roomy and comfortable, definitely a vehicle for those who appreciate being surrounded by comfort and convenience and enjoy the smooth ride of a true luxury sedan. Trim levels include the XL and XLS trim, as well as a Touring and Limited edition. All models were equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system for the 2007 model year and the exterior is no longer as bland as it once was. The interior features finely designed glowing gauges and distinctive metallic trim, giving the interior a very sleek look. For those who seek safety, luxury and outstanding full size sedan performance at a reasonable price, the Toyota Avalon is definitely worth considering.
