Toyota Sienna

The Toyota Sienna mini van was introduced in the United States in 1993 and replaced the Toyota Previa. Not very attractive to look at during its first year, the Sienna did boast excellent crash test ratings, a third row of seats making it adequate for up to seven passengers, an optional sliding passenger side door (remember when mini vans only had two doors to enter and exit both front and rear seats?) and a robust V6 engine. Even with a less than attractive exterior, the Sienna was just about everything Americans were looking for in a mini van-passenger room, cargo space and a reliable and smooth driving experience.

The 1999 through 2003 model years, this capable mini van was enhanced with functionality, comfort and safety improvements. It was not until the 2002 model year that the appearance was enhanced. The Sienna adopted a more attractive visual appearance in 2001 with the introduction of a new grille, front bumper, headlights and rear taillights.

A new generation of Sienna was introduced for the 2004 model year. Now available with all wheel drive to handle inclement weather conditions, the Sienna still received high grades for gas mileage, even with the more powerful 3.3 liter V6 that delivered a very mini van admirable 230 horsepower. The comfort and convenience of this mini van was superior, though still economically viable. The third row seat was now equipped to fold flat and the second row seats were removable to increase cargo space when needed. The premium quality of options and features worked towards the continuation of the Sienna being on the most wanted mini van list.

As of the 2007 model year, the Toyota Sienna is available with a 3.5 liter V6 and some admirable features that include dual side power operating sliding rear doors, excellent handling, and of course, all wheel drive. The balance that the Toyota Sienna has achieved between practical functionality and handling that will be appreciated by driving enthusiasts, is very desirable. The only downside to this particular mini van in comparison to the competition is the price you will pay for the options you want, but what you get will be of high quality and substantially increase the utility and comfort of the vehicle.
