2010 Volkswagen CC Review
The 2010 Volkswagen CC is entering into its second production year. The CC takes what's best of the Passat and enhances it. Fluent lines and bold styling accent this 4-door, sporty and safe vehicle from one of the most notorious auto manufacturers on the planet. Two trims are offered: the Sport and Luxury. Both are front wheel driven sedans and both have earned four star crash test ratings from the NHTSA.
The Volkswagen CC for 2010 comfortably transports 4 full-grown adults. Ergonomic seating is sporty and supportive even on long journeys. Seats on the Luxury trims are leather as a standard feature and optional on the Sport trims. And of course, there are loads of other optional luxury features including navigational systems, panoramic sunroofs, rear backing cameras, satellite radio systems and the popular Dynaudio stereophonic system in which hands-free Bluetooth connectivity and a touch-screen control system are built in.
Safety wise, the 2010 CC from Volkswagen is well thought and quite comprehensive. Anti lock brakes are able to sense when any given wheel has completely stopped spinning during high pressure braking scenarios and adjusts the pressure applied accordingly. This allows the vehicle to maintain its ability to be steered. Electronic stability control recognizes when the vehicle has exceeded its limits for handling and automatically reduces the amount of power output from the engine. The CC also comes standard with front, side and overhead airbags for both frontal occupants. In addition, seatbelt pretensioners, head restraints that help to prevent whiplash, occupancy sensors and a system for engine disabling are also included.
Competition for the Volkswagen CC includes the BMW 328, the Mazda Mazda6, the Toyota Avalon and the Honda Accord. Pricing ranges from $27,550 up to $32,830. Both the Sport and the Luxury trims are equipped with a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower at 5100 RPM and 207 lb-ft of torque at a low 1700 RPM. The engine is joined to the Volkswagen Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) that has replaced the automatic transmission that was standard last year. Sport trims deliver 21/31 MPG while no fuel economy ratings have been reported for the Luxury trims.
The 2010 Volkswagen CC has been very well received and continues to forge its path into a blazingly bright future. Peppy power, a well designed safety system, plenty of creature comforts and sporty looks all act in conjunction to please drivers and passengers very efficiently. Test drive a new CC today and experience the ride quality that can only be delivered by an industry leader like Volkswagen.
